U sing an Ethernet cable is your best option for the most stable and fast connection, especially for gaming, streaming, or working from home, Here's how to get connected using a wired setup.
Step 1 - Find the Ethernet port in your room
If your accommodation offered a wired connection, look for a wall-mounted port that may look like a phone socket but is labelled for internet or has a network symbol.
Ports are often located near desks or beds
Some flats may have multiple ports – only one will be active
Step 2 - Plug in your device
You'll need:
A standard Ethernet cable (Cat5e or Cat6)

A device with an Ethernet port (e.g. laptop, desktop, console)
If your device doesn’t have an Ethernet port (like most modern laptops), use a USB-C or Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter
To connect:
Plug one end of the cable into the wall port
Plug the other into your device or adapter
Your device should automatically detect the wired connection
If you have a registered smart phone on your account, you can scan the QR with your phone to add it to your account - simply click already signed up.
Step 3 - Register your device
Once plugged in:
Visit https://signup.ask4.com/
Log in or create an account
Select Enable this device
Your device will now be authorised and connected
Step 4 - Check your connection
Your Ethernet connection should be active immediately
